1)     Q: What is your native language?

A: My native language is Simplified Chinese for Mainland China (ISO language code: zh-CN).

 

2)     Q: Do you offer test translation free of charge?

A: No. I don’t.

 

3)     Q: What types of file format do you support?

A: I support an ever-growing list of file formats, including MS Office, HTM/HTML, XML, FrameMaker, InDesign, Visio, ASP, JSP, JAVA, TTX, XLIFF, TXLF, SDLXLIFF, and more.

 

4)     Q: Can you maintain the page layout?

A: Yes, if the source documents are in editable formats (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, editable PDFs, HTML, etc.), I can maintain the original layout.

 

5)     Q: When can I expect to get the translated documents?

A: Please consider the following factors:

i)                My daily output is around 3000~3500 source words;

ii)              I may also have to handle projects from other customers on any given day;

iii)             There may be public holidays in China which are different from your country;

iv)             Nevertheless, I guarantee that I’ll meet all agreed delivery deadlines. And when under the absolute circumstances of no choice but to delay the delivery, I’ll warn the customer well in advance.

 

6)     Q: When do I need to pay?

A: For new clients, I ask them to provide 100% payment to place the order. This will help save time for both of us. And if you feel more comfortable, you can split your documents into small batches and place orders on a rolling basis. However, I offer all my long-term clients the possibility to pay after delivery, within 15 days. For those most recurring customers, I also offer a monthly billing option.

 

7)     Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: Currently, I accept payments via Wire Bank Transfer or PayPal. For new clients, paying via PayPal can help us save time to confirm the payment.

 

8)     Q: Do you offer After-Sale Service?

A: Yes, I do. I offer to amend the documents after delivery free of charge in case of minor changes in the source text, or if the customer may need to update some terms, numbers, dates/times, or proper nouns, etc. in the source text.
